Egmont Publishing, the number one licensed character publisher in the UK, has acquired publishing rights for LEGO DC Super Heroes and The LEGO Batman Movie, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Entertainment.

John Packard, Publisher, Egmont Publishing, partnered with Eric Huang, Publishing Director at Ameet Publishing, the LEGO Group and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment. Egmont’s LEGO DC publishing program will sit alongside their other LEGO® titles including LEGO® NINJAGO™.

Egmont’s first three LEGO DC books launch this October: two activity titles with LEGO minifigures (one Superman and one Batman) each priced at £6.99, and a sticker book with activities with an RRP of £5.99.

Four movie tie-ins will follow in spring 2017: The LEGO Batman Movie activity book featuring an exclusive minifigure; The LEGO Batman Movie Choose-Your-Hero activity book; The LEGO Batman Movie activity diary; The LEGO Batman Movie sticker book with activities and The LEGO Batman Movie annual in autumn, which will also come with a LEGO minifigure.

John Packard, Publisher, Egmont Publishing, commented: “We are really excited to be publishing LEGO DC titles in the UK. The LEGO Movie was a huge hit, and I’m sure The LEGO Batman Movie will be too. This movie range is the perfect way to launch our LEGO DC program.”

Eric Huang, Publishing Director, Ameet Publishing, said: “The LEGO Group is the largest toy company in the world, and 2017 will be a massive year with two movies scheduled: The LEGO Batman Movie in the spring and a movie behind LEGO NINJAGO in autumn. We’re thrilled that Egmont is expanding their rights with us to encompass LEGO DC Super Heroes and The LEGO Batman Movie.”
