Egmont has pledged a significant six-figure investment in marketing and PR for Laura Ellen Anderson’s Amelia Fang in 2019, capitalizing on a stellar first year for the series.

The Amelia Fang books see a young vampire, her pet pumpkin Squashy and a band of her friends solve mysteries and get themselves out of sticky situations in a fun-packed series of adventures, all set in the ghoulish world of Nocturnia.

The first award-winning book in the series, Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball, launched as Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month and was the number one non-celebrity debut in October 2017, swiftly followed by Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords in March 2018.

With an explosion in requests for festival appearances and school events, and plans to tour Laura extensively across the UK, Ireland and in major export markets, 2019 is set to be ‘International Year of the Fang’.

In the next book in the series, Amelia Fang and the Memory Thief, the creatures of Nocturnia has begun to act very strangely. No one can seem to remember anything – including their own names or even Amelia’s big birthnight party. Where have everyone’s memories gone? Amelia Fang and the Memory Thief will be followed by Amelia Fang and the Half-Moon Holiday in March 2019. Another Amelia Fang title will follow in October 2019 and both will be supported by a huge marketing and PR campaign across retail, consumer, print and digital.

Laura Ellen Anderson has illustrated several high-profile fiction brands, as well as creating several picture books and the award-winning Evil Emperor Penguin. Amelia Fangis her first series for older readers as an author/illustrator.

Laura Ellen Anderson is a children’s book author and illustrator, with an increasing addiction to coffee. Laura is the creator of Evil Emperor Penguin and the first female illustrator to illustrate Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series.
